Everett Lynn Kirk, “Bookie” to those who knew and loved him, passed away June 23, 2025, in Riverview, Florida.

Born in Williamson, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Everett and Mary Kirk of Lovely, Kentucky.

A graduate of Warfield High School, Class of 1967, Bookie continued his education at Morehead State University, where he joined the ROTC. After graduating, Bookie joined the U.S. Army, where he became a combat medic stationed in Guam, Germany and Hawaii. Returning to the States, Captain Everett Kirk worked in administration at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington before retiring.

Bookie is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Harlan Ray Kirk, Arthur Kirk, Juanita (Cricket) Muncy, Lois Carter Mills and Tonetta Nichols.

Those left to grieve his passing include sisters Nancy (Noah) Dillon, Pat (Harlen) Marcum, brothers Wib (Darla) Kirk and Mike (Sharon) Kirk, and a host of nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Bookie.

To honor Bookie’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral service. The family will have a private service at a later date.
