INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Brenda Hall, 39, of Lovely, was arrested Sunday on Long Branch Road in Lovely on three bench warrants. Deputy Steven Putman served the warrants.

James Aaron Moore, 55, of Lovely, was arrested Sunday on Maple Street in Lovely for driving on a DUI-suspended license and no tail lamps.
Deputy Steven Putman reported encountering Moore behind the wheel of a white Toyota truck near the Zip Zone in Lovely. Moore appeared to begin turning into the store parking lot, but upon seeing the deputy continued north toward Warfield, the police report states.
Putman observed that the truck’s driver-side taillight was out and followed Moore.
“When I got behind the subject, he sped up to pull onto Maple Street,” the deputy wrote.
After stopping the vehicle, Putman approached and reportedly found Moore had moved into the back seat. The officer noted that he knew Moore did not have a driver’s license.

Robert Lee Maynard, 66, of Inez, was arrested Sunday on Turkey Creek Road in Inez for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Deputy J.C. Kirk responded to a call about a man stumbling in the roadway on Turkey Creek Road. The deputy reportedly found Maynard unsteady on his feet, holding an open beer can and several unopened ones. According to the police report, Maynard had a strong odor of alcohol about him. He allegedly admitted to drinking several beers throughout the day.
Maynard was too impaired to safely attempt a field sobriety test, police said.

Kathy Jo Williamson, 53, of Inez, was arrested Saturday at Ford Place in Inez on a bench warrant. Deputy Putman served the warrant just before 11 p.m.

Joseph Christopher Jude, 44, of Lovely, was arrested Friday on Ed Moore Lane in Debord on two bench warrants. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrants just before 10:30 p.m.

Mack Arthur Estep, 40, of Warfield, went to jail Thursday on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (over 2 grams of methamphetamine), first-degree possession of methamphetamine, first-degree possession of an unspecified drug, possession of marijuana, no registration plates and failure to maintain required insurance.
Deputy J.C. Kirk conducted a traffic stop on Estep on the Kermit Bridge in Lovely after Estep failed to give a turn signal. According to the police report, Estep and two passengers appeared nervous and had open alcoholic beverage containers in the car.
A search of the vehicle turned up 18.44 grams of suspected meth, 4.89 grams of marijuana, nine and a half unidentified pills, baggies, scales and $141 in cash, police said.

Jason Branscome, 42, of Morehead, was arrested July 4 on Blacklog Road in Inez for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).
Deputy Steven Putman arrested Branscome after Branscome allegedly caused a disturbance at the Zip Zone on Blacklog Road. The deputy’s report states Branscome cursed at EMS personnel and convenience store customers and threatened to harm himself and the EMS workers.
Branscome allegedly admitted that he had injected “ice” roughly an hour earlier.
Putman wrote that Branscome had bloodshot eyes, was unable to focus or remain still, and could not complete a field sobriety test.
“He was talking to himself,” the deputy noted.

Jeffery Maynard, 46, of Inez, went to jail July 1 on charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place and terroristic threatening.
Deputy Putman took Maynard into custody on Peter Cave Road in Inez at around 9:21 p.m. after responding to a call about two neighbors involved in a verbal altercation.
Upon arrival the officer encountered Maynard, who allegedly stated that if he did not go to jail, either he or neighbor Noah Bowen would “die tonight.”
According to the police report, Maynard said, “I’m walking down the road when you leave, and when his dogs that killed my chickens come to the top of the road to bite me, I will shoot and kill them. And when [Noah Bowen] comes out, me or him will die.”
Maynard allegedly admitted that he had been drinking, saying he was angrier than usual because he typically does not drink.
“I swear to drunk I’m not God—I am not drunk,” Maynard allegedly told the deputy.
