INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:

Kayla Jude, 35, of Inez, was arrested Monday on Cassius Moore Road in Pilgrim on charges of burglary and assault. Deputy Jameson Wall was dispatched to a residence regarding an altercation. The victim advised Jude made entry unlawfully and they got into a physical altercation. The deputy noted minor injuries on both parties.

Michael Spaulding, 43, of Kermit, West Virginia, was arrested Monday at Wades Junkyard in Inez on charges of receiving stolen property valued at $1,000-$10,000.

Deputy Wall reported that Spaulding was in possession of a vehicle reported stolen just days prior.

“The owner followed it to the location while on the phone with dispatch,” Walls wrote in his report. “Mr. Spaulding was very cooperative with me.”

Joann N. James, 33, of Kermit, West Virginia, was arrested Monday in Inez for receiving stolen property and a bench warrant. Deputy Wall reported that James was with a man in possession of a stolen truck.

Roy Kenneth Goble, 50, of Lovely, was arrested Sunday in Lovely on charges of criminal trespass first degree, menacing and public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

Deputies responded to a call about a man attempting to enter residences without permission. According to Deputy Wall, Goble entered one residence where a female pushed him back out of the house. The female told police that she “was scared to death.”

The police report notes that Goble “was running and screaming, ‘They are trying to shoot me,’ referring to someone not there.” Goble allegedly admitted to doing meth six days ago.

Samantha Payne, 32, of Dingess, West Virginia, was arrested Saturday on Preece Hollow in Inez on a bench warrant. Deputy Steven Putman made the arrest.

Donald Ray Delong Jr., 45, of Debord, was arrested Saturday on Setser Branch in Debord on a bench warrant and a charge of possession of a controlled substance first degree (heroin). Deputy Putman stated Delong called and turned himself in.

Larry Joe Horn Jr., 57, of Inez, was arrested Friday on charges of possession of controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia-buy/possession, failure to wear seat belts, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and obstructing a highway. Deputy Wall made the arrest.

John Cornette, 35, of Inez, was arrested Friday at Jarrett Trailer Park in Inez on a charge of receiving stolen property valued at under $10,000 (violation code 28032). Deputy Wall reported that Cornette was the driver of a truck with a stolen four-wheeler.

Erin A. Kugel, 22, of Inez, was arrested Friday at Jarrett Trailer Park in Inez on a charge of receiving stolen property valued at $1,000-10,000. Wall reported that Kugel was in the center seat of a truck with possession of a stolen 4-wheeler.

Joshua Lee Moore, 27, of Inez, was arrested Friday at Jarrett Trailer Park in Inez on a charge of receiving stolen property valued at under $10,000. Deputy Wall reported that Moore was in possession of a stolen 4-wheeler.

Matthew Proctor, 29, of Warfield, was arrested Thursday on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place. Deputy Putman made the arrest.

Douglas Sparks, 56, of Dingess, West Virginia, was arrested Thursday in Inez on an indictment warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance first degree/fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia – buy/possession and a bench warrant for court. Deputy Billy Wells made the arrest.

Donald R. Perkins, 40, of Warfield, was arrested June 25 in front of Warfield City Hall on charges of possession of a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, no registration receipt, no registration plates and no motorcycle operator’s license.

Deputy Putman reported that he initiated a traffic stop after observing Perkins fail to use a turn signal. During the stop, Perkins appeared nervous and initially denied having any illegal substances, according to the police report. After further questioning, Perkins allegedly retrieved a substance he identified as “$50 worth of ice,” a street name for methamphetamine.

Donald Cornette, 55, of Tomahawk, was arrested June 25 in Tomahawk on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.
