James Millard Stumbo
1956—2025

James Millard Stumbo passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at his home.

He was born Dec. 25, 1956, to the late Alonzo Stumbo and Gertrude Marcum Bennett.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two siblings, Jessie Loftis and Floyd Stumbo.

Also known as Jim or Uncle Jimmy, he leaves behind two sisters, Leona Mae (Carl) Scott of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and Debbie (Halcey) Ferguson of North Carolina, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved very much.

Jim preferred the simple life. After working for many years as a very talented carpenter, he retired to his homeplace in Stonecoal, West Virginia, where he lived his last days.

Upon his request, he will be cremated and then placed beside his mother and sister. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home of Inez.
