INEZ — Layla Cline is the Tommy’s Auto Sales Player of the Week.
The Martin County 12U All-Star helped secure a 10-8 win June 19 in the Queen of the Mountains tournament in Pike County.
With a Pikeville runner on first, a heater found its way to Cline playing the second baseman position.
She chased down the Pikeville player for a tagout and gathered herself. Cline whizzed a throw to teammate JaLynn McGinnis at first to turn the double play and win the game for Martin County.
Earlier in the contest, Cline slugged a double with bases loaded to score the 10th run for the MC All Stars.
