Nellavine Harless Kirk
1940—2025

Nellavine Harless Kirk, 85, of East Kermit, West Virginia, passed away at her home Friday, June 13, 2025.

She was born May 8, 1940, to the late George Walter “Bud” Harless and Mary Imogene Sword Harless.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Douglas Kirk, one daughter, Teresa Bullard and one grandchild, Matthew Blackburn.

Nellavine is survived by her three children, Alesia (Todd Stroup) Preece of Greensboro, Georgia, Jay Douglas (Mary) Kirk II of Williamson and Bud Russell (Belanda) Kirk of Kermit; 10 grandchildren, Christy (Bo) Bishop, Tiffany (Scott) Newcomb, Stephanie (Brian) Konitzer, Brad (Genevieve Dragalin) Preece, Cara (Kevin) Jones, Jay Douglas (Tori) Kirk III, Donavan (Anna) Kirk, Tyler (Savanna) Kirk, Trevor (Sydney) Kirk and Tanner (Cami Thompson) Kirk; and a host great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Dennis Bullard, a loving sister-in-law, Carol Sue Mills, a special friend, Dora Jude and her loving caregivers, Ruth Kirk, Tabby Sexton, Maggie Morgan, Linda Messer and Julie Evans.

Funeral services took place Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Lighthouse Community Church in East Kermit with Keith Brumfield officiating. Burial followed at the Mountain View Memory Gardens in Maher. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
