INEZ — A Martin County man faces charges of wanton endangerment, reckless driving and ATV violations after flipping his side-by-side Sunday night and injuring two juvenile girls.

Martin County sheriff’s deputies arrested Christopher Joseph Muncy, 35, of Tomahawk, at the scene on New Route 3 in Inez.

Deputy Jameson Wall responded to the accident around 8 p.m. He reported that witnesses said Muncy was driving the side-by-side “dangerously fast” before losing control and flipping it. One of the passengers reportedly told law enforcement they had been attempting to do a “donut” when the crash occurred.

“I witnessed [Muncy] leave the area, not concerned about the passengers,” Wall wrote in his report.

Wall noted that Kentucky State Police responded but declined to take over the investigation.

At the sheriff’s office in Inez, Muncy allegedly refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

“[Muncy] was cooperative with deputies but attempted to shut the door of my cruiser while the trooper was standing in the doorway,” Wall said.

EMS transported the juveniles for medical evaluation and treatment, but officials did not release information about their conditions.
