INEZ — Senior quarterback Devan Maynard and teammates Crayson Lafferty and Gavin Stepp are representing Martin County High School at college football camps across the region this summer.

Maynard, entering his final season with the Cardinals, attended the Nike Elite Camp at Kentucky State University on May 31, one of only 150 players invited. His performance at KSU earned him an invitation to the upcoming Kentucky Wesleyan Prospect Camp later this month.

Maynard also participated in Marshall University’s camp last week with support from assistant coach Josh Horn, who has been actively working to promote the team’s athletes.

Over the weekend, Maynard, Lafferty and Stepp took part in Kentucky Christian University’s football camp.

Lafferty, drawing attention for his defensive play, has received invites to Murray State and Morehead State.

Lafferty is a junior while Stepp is a senior.
