INEZ — The Martin County Retired Teachers Association gathered May 23 to honor the memory of four educators who passed away during the past year.

Held at the Collier Center in Inez, the memorial ceremony paid tribute to Donna Sue Cassady, Darlene Dalton, Wilburn Goble and Linda Mollette — all remembered for their years of service to local students and their impact on the community.

Family members attending the service received a rose bush and a formal proclamation in recognition of their loved ones’ dedication.

This solemn occasion was punctuated with bouts of laughter (and a few tears) as colleagues and friends shared memories of these esteemed people.

Following the ceremony, attendees gathered for lunch, where conversation and memories of the late educators continued.

Though no longer present, organizers said, their influence endures in the lives they touched and the legacy they leave behind. They will never be forgotten.
