
INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Norene Bowen, 61, of Debord, was arrested Monday on McCoy Drive in Debord on a bench warrant for court. Deputy Steven Putman served the warrant.

Clayton James Hall, 22, of Paintsville, was arrested Sunday at Evans Hardware in Inez on a warrant from Lawrence Circuit Court. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant.

Matthew Jude, 36, of Tomahawk, was arrested Sunday at Fields Trailer Park in Tomahawk on a charge of assault, fourth degree (domestic violence), with no visible injury. Deputy Steven Putman responded to a call to dispatch about an active domestic. According to the police report, witnesses stated Jude assaulted a female, shoving her to the ground and breaking the skin on her arm. The officer noted the female’s arm did not bleed.

Jimmy Dale Maynard, 45, of Warfield, was arrested Saturday at Dempsey Housing in Warfield on charges of resisting arrest, assault third degree-police officer, and two bench warrants, one of which is from Lawrence Circuit Court with a court date of June 12 looming.
Deputy Kenney Maynard reported that he and Deputy J.C. Kirk went to Apartment 16A at Dempsey to serve a warrant on Maynard.
Deputy Maynard said the suspect warned them they would have to use force if they wanted to put him in handcuffs. As the deputies approached, the suspect was positioned on a staircase with Deputy Kirk above him and Deputy Maynard below. When Kirk attempted to handcuff him, the suspect resisted.
Deputy Maynard reported that he grabbed the suspect’s legs and brought him down to the ground. During the struggle, the suspect allegedly tried to put Maynard in a headlock. While Deputy Maynard was attempting to restrain the suspect’s arm, the man reportedly grabbed his ear and tore the lower lobe. Medical personnel from Patriot EMT later advised that the injury would likely require stitches, the deputy said.
Deputy Kirk stated he got a scrape on his thumb during the incident.

Arlie J. Bowen, 51, of Lovely, was arrested Friday for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Constable Bradford Preece responded to a call to dispatch about Bowen being passed out at Ohio Valley Physicians on Blacklog Road in Inez. The police report states the officer found Bowen in the medical office exhibiting signs of extreme intoxication. The officer noted Bowen had slurred speech and could not follow instructions.

Matthew C. Moore, 41, of Staffordsville, was arrested Friday on Pigeon Roost in Pilgrim on a bench warrant for court. Constable Preece served the warrant.

Brenten Allen Johnson, 32, of Inez, was arrested Thursday on Irene Johnson Lane in Inez on four bench warrants from Martin Circuit Court. Deputy Jamie Walls served the warrants.

Kyle Safford, 34, of Inez, was arrested Thursday on Fitch Branch Road in Inez on a bench warrant.

Jeffrey B. Marcum, 39, of Louisa, was arrested May 27 in Inez on a bench warrant for court. Deputy Cody Tash served the warrant.
