With heavy hearts, we share that Brady passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at the age of 22. He left us unexpectedly but surrounded by so much love.

Born Aug. 27, 2002, in Huntington, West Virginia, Brady was the beloved child of the late Angela Renea (Kirk) Chaffin and Christopher Riley Chaffin. He grew up in Brewer Hollow in Kermit, West Virginia, where he made lifelong memories and friendships.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandfather, Mervin Gene Kirk and grandmother, Freda Maxine Messer.

Brady was a cherished son, nephew, brother, and cousin. He was also a loving friend known for his loving heart, great personality, kindness and work ethic. Family was everything to him. Whether it was Sunday dinners, birthday parties, or just quiet nights at home, he brought warmth, laughter, and a deep sense of togetherness.

Brady’s favorite pastime was working on his truck and Jeep. Even as a small child, he loved to work on things. His final job was with KCS Construction, where he worked with multiple childhood friends and the amazing Boss Bud (Belanda) Kirk.

In addition to his father, Brady is survived by his maternal grandmother, Ruby Jean Kirk; paternal grandparents, Ermal Ray (Robin) Chaffin; loving brother/best friend, Brandon (Jesse) Chaffin-Ortiz; two very special people, Aunt Trenna and Uncle Ronnie Brewer; funniest, sweetest, loving Aunt Jessica (Megan) Chaffin; and many aunts and uncles, John David Chaffin, Brittany (Michael) Williams and Bradley Ray Chaffin; and a host of cousins that loved Brady dearly. He is also survived by his maternal cousins, Whitney (Nathaniel) Sturgell, Katelyn (Blake Rose) Brewer, Jaden Starr, Kailey Starr, Kaelynn Hinkle, Kylin Hinkle, and paternal cousins, Donnie (Oda) Howard and Connie (Greg) May, along with their children. Lastly, he leaves behind two incredible young men who looked up to Brady as their role model, Walker Sturgell and Kaden Hinkle.

Funeral services took place Friday, May 30, 2025, at Callaham Funeral Home in Inez. Burial followed at Brewer Cemetery. Pallbearers: Nathaniel Sturgell, Tanner (Boo Boo) Kirk, Tyler Kirk, Trevor Kirk, Nick Spaulding, Nick (Nicky) Alley, Alex (peanut) Vance, Kyle Hinkle, Blake Rose and Kyle Hodge.
