WARFIELD — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 announced embankment repair work started Tuesday, June 3, on KY 292 in Martin County at mile point 15.32, just south of Warfield Elementary School.
To safely complete the repairs, the roadway will be closed daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. during normal working hours through the end of this week, weather permitting.
Blue Rock, the project contractor, will maintain the closure area while crews work to stabilize and repair the embankment.
Beginning next week, the daily closures will cease, but motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes as traffic will be allowed to pass through the work zone under flagging operations.
The project is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions.
KYTC asks drivers to use caution in the area, obey all warning signs and flaggers, and plan for potential delays. Safety is our top priority for the traveling public and the workers on-site.
