Markieta (Harvey) Crum

1954—2025

Markieta (Harvey) Crum, 71, of Lovely, passed away May 20, 2025, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Born April 1, 1954, in Paintsville, she was the daughter of the late Enos and Ida (Horn) Harvey. In addition to her parents, Markieta is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Crum; one son, Keith Franklin Crum; and one sister, Carma Horn.

Markieta is survived by two daughters, Tonya Crum (Michael) Clayton of Wittensville and Sonya Crum of Staffordsville; Sarah Meyerhoff, whom she thought of as a daughter; four brothers, Steve (Sherry) Harvey of Ohio, Danny (Ida) Harvey of Paintsville, Chris (Linda) Harvey and Orson (Michelle) Harvey, both of Inez; and four sisters, Maggie (Will) Thompson of Lawrence County, Diane (Tom) Waddle of Prestonsburg, Lori (Ronald) Workman of Warfield, and Betsy (Owen) Wright of Prestonsburg. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Austin Crum, Joshua Crum, Harrison Crum, Corey Mills, Willow Crum, Hannah Crum, Cody Wheeler, Mason (Myra) Mills, and Liberty Meyerhoff, along with one great-grandchild, Benjamin Mills.

Funeral services took place Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Crum Funeral Home in Inez. Burial followed at the Harvey Cemetery in Inez. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crum Funeral Home, Inez, to assist with funeral expenses.
