Carlos Lackey

1949—2025

Carlos Lackey, age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Skyline Medical Center.

Born Jan. 26, 1949 in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Shelva and Lola Lackey.

Carlos was a devoted member of the Samaria Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending quality time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Finley.

Carlos is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Cheryl Lackey; his daughters, Lori (Steve) Wallace, Rebecca (DeWayne) Vanzant, and Cheryl (John) Thompson; grandchildren Danny Wallace, Deanna Bowers, Christopher Crain, Ashley Thompson and Amanda Thompson; six great-grandchildren; brothers James Lackey, Grandy (Pauline) Lackey, and Saul (Cathy) Lackey; and his sister, Gloria McKinley.

Funeral services took place Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church in Dingess, West Virginia. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
