Prentice Randall Preece
1956—2025

Prentice Randall Preece, 69, of Pilgrim, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Born April 2, 1956, he was the son of the late Abraham Preece and Mirtie Preece.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers David “Crock” Preece and Bob Preece, sister Patsy Preece, brothers-in-law Buddy Ray Moore and Dwight Sammons, sisters-in-law Jean Preece and Doris “Dodie” Preece, nephew Jared Bowers, and nieces Sharon Preece and Crystal Fletcher.

Prentice was a disabled coal miner and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by daughter Rana (Brad) Pack of Inez; grandchildren Rylan, Braxten and Jackson; brothers Don (Gaye) Preece of Lousia and Paul “Pete” Preece of Columbus, Ohio; and sisters Betty (Dwight) Bowers of Louisville,  Mary Sammons of Warfield and Kay Moore of Louisa.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday May 10, 2025, at Mullins Family Funeral Home in Warfield. Burial followed at Scott Robinson and Friends Cemetery in Pilgrim, with Billy Joe Robinson officiating. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
