INEZ — Payton Lowe, a wrestler at Martin County High School, signed a national letter of intent May 2 at MCHS to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Pikeville, where he plans to study criminal justice.

Family members are Jarrett and Connie Lowe. Payton is the nephew of former Cardinal standout CJ Lowe.

“I’m very excited to see what Payton can accomplish at the collegiate level of wrestling,” MCHS wrestling head coach Josh Muncy said. “He has all of the physical attributes needed to succeed. The sky is the limit for Payton. He is destined for greatness.”

The multi-sport athlete also played football for the Cardinals.
