Martin County arrest report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Shawn David Moore, 45, of Inez, and Donald Keith Harris, 44, of Ulysses, were arrested Monday in Inez for theft of a motor vehicle registration plate.

Deputy Steven Putman reported that Moore admitted to taking the tags off John Fletcher’s and Tim Mullett’s cars and putting them on Donald Harris’ vehicle. Moore allegedly stated that Harris “was okay with them being on his car.”

Harris was also charged with failure of owner to maintain required insurance, no registration receipt and no registration/expired registration plates.

Destiney Elaine Moore, 24, and Ashley Estepp, 24, both of Warfield, were arrested Monday in Warfield on charges of third-degree burglary.

Sheriff Kirk reported that Moore and Estepp entered an apartment at Dempsey Housing after turning their key in earlier in the day. The police report states Moore and Estepp had previously received a two-week extension that had expired on their lease.

The sheriff responded to a call from Demspey manager Amy Phillips reporting a break-in at the apartment. Officers found the two in a neighboring apartment. During questioning, Moore and Estepp allegedly stated they went through the back door to get items out of the apartment.

Brian Howell

Brian Howell, 45, of Inez, was arrested Monday on Old Route 3 in Inez. His charges include drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

Deputy Steven Putman responded to a call about an intoxicated man walking in the middle of the road near Grassy Park. When he found Howell, he noticed blood on the top of his right hand. When questioned, Howell allegedly stated the injury was from “shooting up.” Officers stated Howell had a syringe, suspected methamphetamine and marijuana on him.

Lara Davis-Giacomoni

Lara Davis-Giacomoni, 42, of Lovely, was arrested Sunday on North Wolf Creek. Her charges include operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and other traffic violations. Deputy Putman reported he performed a traffic stop on Giacomoni after noticing her taillights were out.

Shawn Douglas Hopkins

Shawn Douglas Hopkins, 29, and Courtney Mills, 28, both of Inez, were taken into custody April 22 on Whitt Road for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence). Mills also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Sheriff John Kirk responded to a report of a fight between the two. According to the sheriff, Mills sustained scrapes on her arms, a scratch on her forehead, and knots on her head, while Hopkins had injuries to his chest and arms.

Hopkins told the sheriff that Mills struck him multiple times and busted his television. Mills, in turn, alleged that Hopkins hit her several times during the altercation.

James Gilman, 51, of Beauty, was taken into custody on April 23 at Martin County High School and charged with menacing and disorderly conduct. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest. (See the related story.)

Crystal Fuggett, 45, of Lovely, was arrested April 23 on Route 2032 in Pilgrim on a warrant from Pike District Court. Constable Bradford Preece made the arrest.
