Geneva Bowens
1955—2025

Geneva Bowens, 70, of Louisa, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 16, 1955, to the late John Ferguson and Norena Thomas Ferguson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings Bertha Sturgell, Polly Ferguson, Harvey Ferguson, John L. Ferguson, Clifton Ferguson and Willard Ferguson. She worked at Wayne County Community Services as a home health care tech for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters Adrena (Mickey) Hill of Louisa and Donna (Robby) Smith of Fort Gay, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Lyndsay Conn (Bob White), Lexy Followay (Josh), Charlee Senters (Tyler), Davy Smith (Brittany), Timmy Smith, Sarah Smith (Austyn Elmore), Jacob Smith; and 14 great-grandchildren, Bryson Beckett, Westyn Conn, Alyssa Followay, Makayla Followay, Big Guy Followay, Calle Crum, Parker Senters, Jaxx Senters, Maverick Senters, Landon Newsome, Kylie Newsome, Zoey Smith, Uriah Smith and Ayden Elmore. She also leaves behind brothers Halcey (Debbie) Ferguson and Woodrow (Margaret) Ferguson, both of Lynnwood, North Carolina, and sister Ninnie (Elmer) Bradley of Dunlow, West Virginia.

Funeral Services were conducted Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Fairmont Baptist Church in Dunlow, West Virginia, with George Nelson and Manuel Ferguson officiating. Burial followed at the McClellan Crum Cemetery in Dunlow.
