INEZ — Eden Elementary’s academic team took center stage ahead of the Martin County Board of Education’s April 14 meeting. The BOE recognized the team for an exceptional season of competition.
The Wildcats swept every category at the District 116 Governor’s Cup and went on to finish as Region 29 runner-up. They also claimed the regional Future Problem Solving (FPS) title and placed third in Quick Recall.
Eden’s FPS team—Paige Stafford, Parker Stafford, Beckam Spaulding and Skylin Fitch—went a step further. They captured championships at the district, regional and state levels.
Eden sixth-grade students joined with Inez and Warfield students to compete as a county team in the Sixth Grade Showcase. All of Eden’s students placed.
Martin County Schools Superintendent Larry James presented the certificates to team members and coaches.
Students include Olivia Maynard, Blake Wells, Belle Ray, Keilin Whitten, Peyton Crum, Paige Stafford, Parker Stafford, Beckam Spaulding, Blaine Williams, Skylin Fitch, Deacon Muncy, Jaxon Maynard, Lyric Howell, Gavin Kushto, Easton Blankenship, Ravyn Scott, Hunter Shepherd, Eli Greer, Jaylynn Wright and Christian Davis.
Coaches behind the team’s success include Lora Hale, Shayna Horn, Chasity Leann Crum, Trista Stafford, Mary Fields and Desiree Allen.
