INEZ — Martin County point guard Peyton Davis, known for his three-point shooting at Martin County High School, formalized his commitment to continue his basketball career at Kentucky Christian University. The signing ceremony took place on April 18 in the MCHS auditorium with family and friends present.

The son of Billy and Tabby Davis grew up in Kermit before relocating to Warfield approximately four years ago. His community involvement includes participation in JAG and three years of service as a volunteer firefighter for the Kermit Volunteer Fire Department.

Davis served as a key leader for the Cardinals, contributing both offensively and defensively. During his senior campaign he was the team’s top threat from long-range connecting on 89 shots from behind the arc at a 48.9% clip. He posted per-game averages of 17 points and 4.5 rebounds, shooting 56.6% overall from the field.

His time with Martin County basketball included considerable success. He racked up four district titles, two regional championships, and two All “A” Classic crowns. Davis’s performance also earned him a spot on the 15th Region All-Tournament team and recognition as the 57th District championship Most Valuable Player.

Looking ahead, Davis plans to pursue a career as a flight nurse with Health Net. He maintains a strong academic standing with a 3.8 GPA.
