Louisa man found unconscious in car faces drug charges

Police found Ramey Green passed out in the driver’s seat with the door open Sunday on New Route 3.

INEZ — A Louisa man was arrested Sunday afternoon after authorities found him unconscious in a vehicle on the side of New Route 3, according to Martin County officials.

Ramey Green, 44, faces multiple drug-related charges, including public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol), two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trafficking in a controlled substance.

Constable Bradford Preece responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle. He found Green slumped in the driver’s seat of a 2009 Chevrolet Impala. The vehicle’s hood and driver-side door were both open.

Preece described Green as “severely intoxicated.”

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded approximately 5.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 18 and a half suspected clonazepam pills, 9 grams of suspected marijuana, a used syringe, a grinder and digital scales.
