Lady Cards get win over Fairview

INEZ — The Lady Cards softball team crushed Fairview 8-2 on April 16 in Inez.

Hailey Robinson started things off in the first after being given a free base out of the batter’s box. She stole her way around to third before being brought home by Zoie Hinkle.

Fairview took a 2-1 lead before Martin County went back ahead in the bottom of the third with Robinson and Bella Muncy putting two runs on the board.

Alyssa Mullins reached first on a hit in the dirt. Muncy knocked a single before Hinkle slugged out a triple to right field. 

In the bottom of the fifth, Raegan Horn and Mullins crossed home plate to score for the Cards. 

Martin County will host Johnson Central on Thursday for a 57th District matchup at 5:30 p.m. The squad will travel to Magoffin on Aug. 29.
