INEZ — Sixteen participants filled out an NCAA March Madness tournament bracket printed in the Mountain Citizen newspaper and submitted it March 20 at noon for a chance to win a $100 Texas Roadhouse gift card. In a tight contest, Dana McCoy emerged as the lucky winner in this year’s bracket contest.

The scoring system used was the Fibonacci sequence of 2-3-5-8-13-21.

McCoy correctly chose the championship winner, Florida, and earned a total of 170 points.

Not far behind, Jayce McCoy had 164 points. Luke Preece secured third place with 156 points.

The Mountain Citizen would like to thank all participants. The newspaper hopes to expand the pool in next season’s March Madness.
