Earl Dean Prince
1947—2025

Earl Dean Prince, 77, of Crum, West Virginia, passed away April 12, 2025, in his home with his wife by his side.

Born June 17, 1947, on Bullcreek near Crum, he was one of 11 children of the late Jesse and Bethana (Woodrow) Prince.

He grew up surrounded by many close family members, including a few cousins who were as close as brothers.

Earl was the starting quarterback and defensive safety for the 1965 Class A State Champion Crum Mountaineers.

He had a great love for animals, but mostly his horses and chickens and most days you would find him outside enjoying his life on his farm. He was known as everyone’s favorite “Uncle Punk,” and he would not have had it any other way.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Rita Karen (Lovins) Prince; three children, Unita Sue (Bob) Neeser, Patricia Ruth (Amos) Prince and Earl Luke (Andrea) Prince; grandchildren Jordan Hamilton, Peyton Deskins, Drew Prince, Preston Prince and Brilee Prince as well as two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind one brother, JD (Myrtie) Prince and an abundance of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by both parents, along with siblings Myrtle, Wilson, Fred, Charles, Mack, Frank, Carl, Faye, and Jessie and one infant granddaughter, Aleeyah Sue White.

Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home.
