INEZ — Police arrested a Martin County High School student last week after he allegedly threatened to kill fellow students and bomb the school, authorities said.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the school April 7 after a female student reported receiving violent threats. According to a police report, the female showed purported screenshots of messages in which the suspect, an 18-year-old male from Debord, said he could “slice the [explicit] out of your throat” with a pencil. The threat reportedly extended to other students as well.
During the investigation, the suspect reportedly disclosed to police that he threatened to “blow the school up.” He voluntarily provided Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Kidd with a message he allegedly sent to a friend that read, “I’m gonna bomb this [explicit] school.”
The teenager faces charges of bomb threats and terroristic threatening.
