PRESTONSBURG — Big Sandy Community & Technical College (BSCTC) welcomed a new class of scholars into the Alpha Nu Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa during a special induction ceremony Thursday. The event honored students for their outstanding academic achievements and commitment to leadership and service.

Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges, provides students opportunities to develop leadership skills, engage in community service, and prepare for future success.

“The Phi Theta Kappa advisors are thrilled to welcome new members into the Alpha Nu Zeta chapter,” said Dr. Kathryn Miller, PTK Advisor. “Being active in the chapter gives students valuable leadership experience and allows them to serve the college and community meaningfully.”

The ceremony featured inspiring remarks from college leaders, advisors and PTK members, celebrating the dedication and work of the inductees.

Family, friends and faculty gathered to recognize and support these outstanding students as they took their official membership pledge.

BSCTC congratulates all the new inductees and looks forward to their continued contributions to the college and the community.
