NAUGATUCK, W.Va. — This week’s Tommy’s Auto Sales Player of the Week honor goes to Braydun Ferris. The dynamic junior point guard led Tug Valley High School to back-to-back West Virginia Class A state championships with a string of dominant performances in Charleston.

Ferris was a steady force for the Panthers throughout their three-game title run. He capped it off with a 27-point, 6-assist, 3-steal masterpiece in the 65-45 championship win over No. 2 Tucker County. His relentless energy on both ends of the floor helped spark a second-half surge that left no doubt about who the top team in Class A was.

He also showed up big in the semifinals, scoring 20 points and handing out eight assists in a hard-fought 71-63 win over Greater Beckley Christian.

Ferris opened the tournament with 26 points and seven assists in the quarterfinal victory against Montcalm, setting the tone for what would become a historic run.

Across the three state tournament games, Ferris averaged 24.3 points, seven assists and over two steals per game, proving why Coach Garland “Rabbit” Thompson called him “the best guard in the state.”

His ability to lead, distribute, defend and score in clutch moments was key to Tug Valley’s fifth state title—and second in as many years.

Ferris was named the state tournament MVP.

Congratulations to Braydun Ferris, your Tommy’s Auto Sales Player of the Week.
