Lady Panthers get two wins

NAUGTACK, W.Va. — The Lady Panthers of Tug Valley won their softball season opener 14-6 over the Van Lady Bulldogs on March 19 in Naugatuck. On Saturday, they edged Shelby Valley 3-2 in eight innings at home.

In the opener, Coach Rocky Hall’s squad got home runs from Emma Lackey and Meg Osborne.

Lackey, making her debut as a freshman, also had a pair of doubles, giving her three extra-base hits. Meanwhile Bailee Hall and Katie Hall each had doubles.

Hall and Osborne each had two hits for TVHS.

The winning pitcher was Hall. Lackey also saw action in the circle.

L. Albright was the losing pitcher for Van.

Tug edges Shelby Valley

Tug Valley edged Shelby Valley 3-2 in eight innings Saturday.

Bailee Hall was the winning pitcher for the Lady Panthers in relief for Lackey.

Katie Hall led TV with two hits, including a double, while B. Hall got the other hit.

B. Hall, K. Hall and Lackey each scored a run for the Lady Panthers.
