LEXINGTON — Martin County’s Maci Maynard and Brooke Marcum received prestigious awards at the Rise Up Sports Media ceremony in Lexington on March 12.

Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton declared March 12, 2025, as “Maci Maynard Day” to honor Maynard’s athletic achievements, scholastic excellence and community involvement.

Maynard received the Valerie Still I Rise Award, which recognizes the top female athlete and is considered the highest achievement by Rise Up Sports.

Marcum was honored with the Lea Wise Prewitt Award. The accolade recognizes a selfless student-athlete who leaves their mark on the game, demonstrates unwavering dedication to their team, and makes a meaningful difference in their community.
