Leslie Newsome

Leslie Newsome, 58, of Ft. Gay, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born Feb. 10, 1967, in Logan, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Jim and Pearl Vance Newsome.

He is preceded in death by his son, Leslie Allen Newsome and brothers, Bo, Terry Lee and Joe Newsome.

Leslie had worked as a coal loader in the mines.

Survivors include Leslie’s son, Leslie K. Newsome of Ft. Gay; daughter, Courtney Newsome Howell of Kermit; his companion, Crystal Newsome of Ft. Gay; two grandchildren; siblings Lyle “Punk” (Sherri) Newsome of Crum, Glen (Garnett) Newsome of Wayne, Ronnie (Kathy) Newsome of Wayne, Mike (Bonnie) Newsome of Kermit, Lois (Jessie) Johnson of Madisonville, Kentucky, Dianne (Johnny) McVay of Diamond, Kentucky, Euvonne (Danny) Hester of South Carolina, Paula (Earl) Vance of Kermit and Faith (Jason) Bailey of Lavalette; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 14, 2025, at Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with his brother Glen Newsome officiating. Burial followed at the Christian Hill Cemetery in Wayne County. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
