Elementary volleyball: Eden A-team undefeated

INEZ — Eden Elementary’s A-team remains undefeated after a tiebreaker with Inez before the volleyball tournament arrives next week.

With Inez and Eden splitting the first two sets March 13 with 21-18 scores, the deciding set went to Eden with a final of 15-9.

Sarah McCoy reeled off five straight aces to open the third set.

Inez’s Hope Dials and Gwyn Chafin put three serves apiece on the board for the Indians.

Martha Maynard, Braylee Horn and Paige Stafford scored three points each for the Wildcats and Kylie Wright registered one for the victory.

Eden’s B-team defeated Inez 18-12, 18-4.

The Wildcats won the first set in the C-team matchup 15-6 before Inez squeaked by with a 15-13 win in the second. The Indians came away with the match win after winning the tiebreaker 12-10.

The Eden Wildcats defeated the Warfield Red Devils in A, B and C-team action March 12.
