PIKEVILLE — Two people were found dead early Saturday morning after a house fire in Pikeville, authorities said.
The Kentucky State Police received a 911 call at 6:21 a.m. reporting a structure fire on Brushy Road, according to a statement from the Pikeville Post.
Emergency responders arrived to find the residence engulfed in flames and the bodies of two individuals inside, officials said.
The bodies have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and identification.
Authorities said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.
Detective Cody Stiltner of the Kentucky State Police is leading the investigation. KSP Post 9 personnel and the Gulnare Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
