The business whizzes of Martin County High School’s Area Technology Center came, saw and conquered at their Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Region 5 competition Thursday, March 6, at Morehead State University.
The squad racked up 18 trophies, including four individual regional championships, nine second-place finishes and four third-place wins. Oh, and a team runner-up title for good measure.
Seventeen students, led by adviser/business teacher Thomas Ray and ATC principal Chad Williams, punched their tickets to the FBLA state competition in April at the Galt House in Louisville.
Ray took to Facebook to share the big win, writing, “It’s always hard to find the right words when you’re overflowing with excitement and pride for your students’ success.”
But the results spoke for themselves.
“These kids have been pushed harder than ever before, and it showed,” he added. “Last year, Martin County ATC made it clear we were here to compete. This year, we left no doubt about who we are—and who we’ll be in the future.”
