Documentary ‘Hearts of Hope’ to premiere at Historic SIPP Theatre

PAINTSVILLE — A new documentary chronicling six decades of service by the Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) will debut at the historic SIPP Theatre on Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m. The film “Hearts of Hope” offers an intimate look at the resilience of Eastern Kentucky communities and CAP’s ongoing mission to support families in need.

The screening will take place at the SIPP Theatre, a Paintsville landmark that has served as a cultural hub since its opening in 1932.

The documentary, directed by Paintsville native Toy Adams, combines archival footage, historical photographs and present-day interviews to illustrate CAP’s evolving impact on the region.

Featuring artists, writers, community leaders, and policymakers—alongside CAP staff and volunteers—the film captures a story of generational change, community strength, and an enduring commitment to service.

Since its founding 60 years ago, CAP has worked to build hope and transform lives across Appalachia, providing critical resources to those facing economic hardship. Today, the organization’s reach extends to nearly 2 million people annually, made possible through the dedication of donors, volunteers and local partners.

The screening is free and open to the public.
