
Charles Matt Maynard
1951—2025
Charles Matt “Goodtime Charlie” Maynard, 73, of Genoa, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at his home.
Born July 1, 1951, on Pigeon Roost in Pilgrim, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Oliver and Mel Vina Fletcher Maynard.
Charles was a retired owner/operator of Goodtime Trucking. He was a long-standing member of Smith Chapel Church in Louisa, Kentucky. He preached at several churches over the years as an evangelist.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife Bernice Napier Maynard, son Joey Napier and brother Denzel Maynard.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Adkins (Mitchell) of Radnor, West Virginia; a son, Billy Joe Maynard (Kayla) of Genoa, West Virginia; a sister, Charlene Biliter (Dave) of Inez, Kentucky; a brother, Oliver Lee “Lee Bob” Maynard (Delania), of Louisa, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Natasha Adkins, Hayden Maynard, Harleigh Maynard and Billy Matt Maynard; one great-grandchild, Colton Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, West Virginia, with Elder Tommy Damron officiating. Burial will follow at the Curnutte Cemetery, Radnor, West Virginia.
Friends may visit the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26.
