WARFIELD — Federal emergency officials will be at the Warfield Park Community Center on Tuesday, Feb. 25, and Wednesday, Feb. 26, beginning at 9:30 a.m. to assist individuals affected by recent storms and flooding, Martin County officials announced on Facebook.
Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide “disaster assistance, recovery support and information & guidance,” the post stated. “If you or someone you know needs help, stop by and speak with a FEMA representative.”
The announcement follows President Trump’s approval of Gov. Andy Beshear’s request for a Major Disaster Declaration on Monday.
Federal assistance is now available to individuals in 10 Kentucky counties hit hardest by the storms. Those counties include Breathitt, Clay, Harlan, Knott, Lee, Letcher, Martin, Owsley, Perry and Pike.
Residents who are unable to make it to Warfield on Tuesday and Wednesday do not need to panic. FEMA has options:
