Drema Kay (Moore) Meade

1958—2025

Drema Kay (Moore) Meade, age 66, of Pilgrim, went home to be with the Lord with her family by her side Feb. 14, 2025.

Drema was born Aug. 30, 1958, to the late Clay and Verlia (Adkins) Moore of Pilgrim. In addition to her parents, Drema is preceded in death by one brother, Willis (Helen) Moore of Pilgrim, and one sister, Francis (Gary) Harmon of Pilgrim.

Drema is survived by her loving husband, William “Billy” Meade of Pilgrim; one daughter, Jessica (Wesley) Preece; two grandchildren, Chandler Preece and Luke Preece of Ulysses; two brothers, Eugene (Debbie) Moore of Pilgrim and Dennis Moore of Pilgrim; one sister Brenda (Bill) Davis of Inez; and many nieces and nephews she adored.

Drema was a dedicated Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She attended the Tabernacle of Praise and always put God first in her life. She loved her family and brought joy to everyone around her. Anyone who was around Drema knew how hard of a worker she was. Drema worked at Evans Greenhouse and Evans Warfield Dairy Bar for 32 years, and then she worked as a cook at Martin County High School for 20 years.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with James Horn officiating. Arrangments are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
