WARFIELD — Martin County Middle School’s Luke Preece is the son of Jessica and Wesley Preece. He is the grandson of Drema and Billy Meade and Wanda and Donnie Preece.
Preece started playing basketball at the age of 5 in the Kermit Buddy league. He has played travel basketball since he was about 8 years old.
He won the A-team county championship at Eden Elementary in the 2023-2024 season.
Preece excels in the classroom. A member of JAG and BETA, he has a 4.0 GPA. He trains and puts extra hours on the court in his free time.
He loves going to church and gives God all glory for everything.
Preece’s favorite NBA team is the Lakers. His favorite player is Kobe Bryant.
He would like to thank his coaches for everything and all the time they put in on the gym court. Luke also wants to show appreciation for Jim Clayton, who has mentally and physically trained with him this past year and a half.
“He has encouraged me to be a better player and we can do whatever we set our mind to if we work hard at it,” Preece said.
