INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:

Randy Spence, 54, of Inez, was arrested Sunday on Tomahawk Road in Inez for first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal mischief. Sheriff Kirk responded to Spence’s residence following a report that he had discharged a firearm inside the home.
An investigation revealed that Spence fired a rifle while his wife and great-nephew were in an adjoining room. Officials said Spence had been drinking and engaged in an argument with his wife before firing the weapon.
Sheriff Kirk said Spence hid the gun before law enforcement arrived and refused to disclose its location.

Chelsea Griffith, 27, of Inez, was arrested Tuesday for disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of a minor and indecent exposure. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.

Ethan Hensley, 22, was arrested Monday on Route 2032 in Pilgrim for public intoxication and drug paraphernalia. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd responded to a report of a man passed out at Miner’s Mart and arrived to find Hensley slumped over, police said. When awakened, Hensley exhibited slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and difficulty standing, the deputy reported. A pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana lay in plain view next to Hensley, authorities said.

Martin Gillespie, 51, of Lovely, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for court.

Charles Wallace, 59, of Inez, was arrested Thursday for second-degree terroristic threatening. Deputy Kidd made the arrest.

Harlan Jude, 53, of Pilgrim, was arrested Thursday at the Martin County Courthouse for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), resisting arrest, menacing and public intoxication-controlled substance. Deputy Billy Wells reported that Jude’s arrest followed a scene inside the courtroom. While observing court proceedings, Jude allegedly “squared off in an aggressive fighting stance” prompting Constable Bradford Preece to jump in and forcibly restrain him.
Jude had a white crystal substance that he identified as methamphetamine, authorities said.

Alexandria Destiny Moore, 33, of Warfield, was arrested Feb. 5 at Dollar General in Warfield for operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.

Lynn Kugel, 28, of Paintsville, was arrested Feb. 5 in Lovely for hindering prosecution or apprehension, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Kirk and Deputy Kidd encountered Kugel inside a residence at Taylor’s Trailer Court on Route 292 while serving a warrant on a fugitive. Authorities said Kugel was in the back bedroom hiding with the fugitive. Officers also discovered syringes and suboxone in the room with her. According to police, she attempted to help the fugitive conceal his identity from law enforcement by not informing them when the fugitive provided a false name.

Erin Kugel, 21, of Paintsville, was arrested Feb. 5 in Lovely for hindering prosecution or apprehension. Sheriff Kirk said Kugel and her boyfriend knowingly allowed the fugitive to stay in their home despite his active warrants. When the fugitive provided a false name to authorities, she did not correct the deception, Kirk added.

Brandon Michael Parsons, 40, of Lovely, was arrested Feb. 5 for first-degree possession of a controlled substance/fentanyl and second-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension.
Deputy Kidd reported that when law enforcement went to Parsons’ residence at Taylor Trailer Court on Route 292 to arrest a fugitive, they found syringes and drug paraphernalia strewn throughout the house. Parsons had a substance in his pocket that he identified as “slow” (fentanyl).
Sheriff Kirk commented that Parsons harbored a fugitive in his home and did not inform law enforcement when the fugitive provided a false name.

Justin Marcum, 37, of Inez, was arrested Feb. 4 at the courthouse in Inez on a bench warrant. Deputy A. Chapman executed the warrant.
