CORBIN — Martin County High School is the Division 1A Kentucky State Duals runner-up. The Cardinals battled to the silver conclusion Jan. 25 at Corbin High School.
“I’m very proud of the way our guys showed up and performed,” Coach Josh Muncy said proudly of his squad.
“I knew going in that we were a young team. We started five freshmen and an eighth-grader in 14 weight classes. Our seniors stepped up and showed awesome leadership and our young guys wrestled like upperclassmen.”
Martin County put on a remarkable performance utilizing their youth and veteran mashup.
“We have struggled to get past that top-five finish in the past few years. So to make it to the finals against the best team in the state in any class was a great accomplishment for our team and program,” Coach Muncy said.
