INEZ — Martin County split their games this week with wins over Magoffin County and Floyd Central. The Cards had two close losses at the hands of Johnson Central and Huntington Prep.
The following is a recap of last week’s action:
MC vs Htown Prep – The Cards had a seven-point lead with just over two minutes remaining before Huntington Prep finished the game on a 10-0 run to capture the win 77-74 on Jan. 27 at MCHS.
Parker Watts casually dazzled the crowd with 35 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Cardinal Devan Maynard racked up a double-double on the evening with 14 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Bryson Dials hit double digits with 12 points, four assists, three steals and a rebound.
Eli Mills scored nine points, two rebounds, two steals and two assists.
Brayden Estep grabbed 10 off the glass and contributed four points, four steals and two assists.
MC at Magoffin – Nine three-pointers sealed the deal for Martin County with a 78-65 win over the Hornets in Salyersville on Jan. 28.
Parker Watts fired in 24 points along with five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Bryson Dials secured a double-double scoring 18 points and dishing out 12 assists. He was just shy of a triple-double with eight steals and he pulled down three rebounds.
Eli Mills hit a season-high of 17 points nailing five from three-point land. He grabbed five boards off the glass, handed out four assists and picked two pockets.

Aiden Copeland came off the bench for a three-pointer and bucket for five points. He dished out an assist and grabbed two boards.
Brayden Estep pulled three off the glass, scored two points, dished out two assists and had a steal.
MC at Johnson Central – The Cardinal faithful made their way to Johnson County to watch an absolute throwdown. The Eagles pulled away for a 91-87 overtime district win.
With seconds remaining in regulation, Dials threw up a corner fadeaway. Devan Maynard tipped the miss to Parker Watts who came flying down the middle of the paint.

He met two Eagle defenders in a tough-nosed attempt with Cards fans howling from the stands for a foul to send the game to OT.
Bryson Dials went off for a game-high 26 points. He pulled seven off the board, picked three pockets and handed out two assists.
Watts finished the night with a double-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and one steal.
Brayden Estep had a season-high of 19 points. He grabbed three rebounds and had two steals and one assist.
Maynard fired in 12 points alongside nine rebounds and an assist.
Peyton Davis made his return to the floor with an all-around solid game. He turned in nine points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals.
MC at Floyd Central – The Cards held off a Jaguar run for a 93-90 region win on Saturday at Floyd Central High School behind 19 made three-pointers.

Peyton Davis went off the rails scorching the nets with eight from behind the arc. He finished with 29 points and five rebounds.
Parker Watts hit just below his average with 27 points and four rebounds.
Eli Mills was 80% from deep, nailing four and finishing with 15 points and two rebounds.
Brayden Estep was knocking on the door of a double-double with 10 rebounds and nine points.
Two-way guard Bryson Dials hit for nine points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Martin County’s QB1 Devan Maynard racked up six rebounds and four points.
