Forrest Hinkle Jr.
1958—2025
It is not length of life, but depth of life.
On Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025 Forrest Hinkle Jr. of Tomahawk passed away at the age of 66.
Born March 8, 1958, he was the youngest child of the late Forrest and Della Hinkle.
He did not take being the baby of the family lightly. He was spoiled and well-loved, something he never outgrew.
Dedicated to his family after growing into a young adult he did not venture too far from home. He worked hard in the coal industry providing a life for his two children, Ryan and Danna. Through the years he would instill many values in his children; one of the most important was holding the flashlight still when fixing anything. His brothers and sister will remember him fondly. As time came along, he became papaw to Nikki, KB, Bella, Abbi and Mia. He was a proud papaw and cherished time with his girls.
Forrest had a witty sense of humor and an eye for fixing cars. He never lost his childlike spirit and love for life.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Diana and Shirley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Ryan Hinkle (Natalie) and Danna Hinkle; son-in-law Joe Muncy, who he loved as his own; two brothers, Mike Hinkle (Lisa) and Kelley Hinkle (Sharon); and a sister, Kathy Stepp. He is also survived by five granddaughters, Nikki, KB, Bella, Abbi and Mia, along with a host of nieces and nephews and many friends and family who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez.
