
INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests and charges:

Donald Harris, 44, of Ulysses, was arrested Monday on Dry Fork in Inez for obscuring the identity of a machine. Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Kidd made the arrest at 10 a.m.

Teresa Marcum, 46, of Adams, and Clem Marcum Jr., 47, of Louisa, were arrested Saturday on Rockcastle Creek Road in Inez for violation of a Kentucky emergency protective order/ domestic violence order.

Sheriff Kirk reported that Teresa Marcum allegedly wrote to her husband Clem Marcum Jr. inviting him to come see her at her father’s house while both parties knew there was an active EPO in effect.
The sheriff was dispatched to the residence on Rockcastle Road on a complaint that Mr. Marcum was assaulting Mrs. Marcum. Both individuals denied any assault and there was no sign of assault, authorities said.
Mr. Marcum was additionally charged with possession of marijuana after allegedly admitting that he had it.

Elwood Robertson, 44, of Warfield, was arrested Friday on Groundhog Hollow in Warfield for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol), prescription controlled substance not in the proper container and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
Sheriff Kirk responded to reports of a physical altercation at a residence on Groundhog Hollow where Robertson allegedly struck his wife multiple times on the head and punched his mother-in-law busting her nose. Robertson claimed his mother-in-law had stolen his medication, sparking the confrontation.
When law enforcement arrived, Robertson exhibited slurred speech, glossy eyes and noticeable unsteadiness. He allegedly admitted to taking Xanax, Gabapentin and Fioricet.
A search revealed 18 Xanax pills in a bottle with 14 Fioricet, prescribed for 56 Fioricet.

Christopher Maynard, 42, of Lovely, was arrested Friday on Little Peter Cave Road in Lovely for alcohol intoxication in a public place, disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening.
Sheriff Kirk was dispatched to a residence on Little Peter Cave Road on a report that Maynard was outside his parent’s residence drunk and causing trouble. The sheriff found Maynard at the scene with a strong odor of alcohol about him, slurred speech and difficulty standing. Maynard reportedly admitted that he drank beer and liquor.
According to the police report, Maynard went next door to his brother’s home and asked to stay there. When his brother refused, Maynard allegedly kicked the door, cursed and threatened to kill his brother.

Martin Thomas Howell, 47, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 15 on Turkey Creek Road for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance and failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security.
It did not take long for Sheriff Kirk to locate Howell after a report came in about an impaired driver on Turkey Creek Road. The sheriff spotted him on Turkey Hill and conducted a traffic stop.
According to the police report, Howell exited the vehicle swearing up a storm. He struggled to follow simple instructions and failed a field sobriety test. When pressed, Howell reportedly admitted to using drugs.

Austin Harless, 30, of Debord, was arrested Jan. 14 on Sandlick Road in Debord on a bench warrant.

John Henry Jude, 55, of Debord, was arrested Jan. 14 on New Route 3 in Inez for first-degree possession of cocaine, third-degree possession of an unspecified controlled substance, speeding 18 mph over the limit, operating on a suspended or revoked license and failure to maintain insurance.
Sheriff Kirk pulled Jude over after he clocked him speeding 73 mph in a 55 mph zone, but the traffic stop turned out to be just the beginning.
According to police, Jude appeared nervous, prompting Chief Deputy Chris Kidd to ask him if he was carrying any weapons. Jude reportedly admitted to having a box cutter. Officers asked him to step out of the vehicle for a patdown, which Jude consented to. That’s when Deputy Kidd discovered several pills in Jude’s pocket.
“I forgot about those Neurontin,” Jude reportedly said, referring to the medication.
As Kidd approached the vehicle, Jude allegedly came clean: “I want to be honest. I have two rocks of cocaine beside the driver seat.”
A subsequent search turned up two white, rock-shaped substances in a clear plastic bag.

Joshua Mills, 42, of Tomahawk, was arrested Jan. 13 on Rockhouse Road in Tomahawk for third-degree burglary.
Sheriff Kirk responded to a call from Mills’ father who claimed he had caught his son breaking into his home—on camera. According to the homeowner, the footage showed Mills entering the house without permission. He also said he saw a woman in the video, but by the time law enforcement arrived, she was nowhere to be found.

Earl R. Meek, 47, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 10 at Kirk Plaza in Inez for alcohol intoxication in a public place and a warrant from Lawrence County related to a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Deputy Maynard made the arrest.
