1942—2024

Daniel Perry went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 22, 2024 at his home in Dunlow, West Virginia.

He was born Oct. 13, 1942 in Kermit, West Virginia, the eldest son of the late Lark and Delcie Hodge Perry.

Daniel is preceded in death by sisters Hannah May Marcum and Rose Clay; brothers Jake Lark and Virgil Perry; his oldest daughter, Delcie Chapman; grandson Anthony France; great-grandson Levi Chapman; and son-in-law Jay Daniel.

Survivors include Daniel’s loving wife of 62 years, Maxine Perry; his sons, Daniel (Mary Lou) Perry, Dale Perry and Dwayne (Misty) Perry; three daughters, Debbie Ward, Danielle Daniel and Denise (Jonathan) James. Daniel also leaves behind three sisters: Sally Primer, Earnestine Lacky and Imojean Messer.

Daniel was the proud papaw to 13 grandchildren: Matthew and Mitchell Chapman, Anthony France, Kacey Newsome, Dakota Perry, Gary Lee Messer, Hailey Messer, Nathan Messer, Zechariah, Gabriel, Virginia, and Mahalia Perry and Katelin Osborne.

Daniel was a retired foreman at Martiki Coal. He did many jobs, but being a pastor at the Welcome Home Church on Jennies Creek was what he was most proud of. He loved his members like they were family.

Daniel was a wonderful man who left an impression on anyone who met him. He spent his life spreading the word about a man named Jesus—a man who had unconditional love for everyone. If you want to honor Daniel and carry his memory, do the same. Tell someone about that man named Jesus and about his never-ending love for them.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Dec. 27, 2024 at Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with Rick Dials and Jerry Kirk officiating. Burial followed at the Daniel Perry Cemetery in Dunlow, West Virginia. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
