WISE, Va. — The Martin County High School wrestling team placed sixth out of 34 teams at the Bobby Bates Invitational over the weekend in Wise, Va.

Parker Maynard took the podium with third place in the 144 lb weight class.

Cole Jewell brought home fourth in the 175 lb.

JJ Mollett (106), Julian Stafford (132), and Chase Stacy (150) placed fifth in their respective weight classes.

Jono Cline (120) and Ryan Smith (215) finished sixth.

Jeremy Begley (138) and James Begley (165) placed seventh for the Cardinal wrestling team.

The squad will be feuding at the Hatfield and McCoy Invitational on Dec. 27-28 in Pikeville.
