GRAYSON — A man was fatally shot Dec. 18 after entering a residence in Carter County, state police said.

Authorities responded to a 9:04 p.m. emergency call reporting a shooting on Damron Mayo Road in Grayson. Upon arrival, officers from the Kentucky State Police and Grayson City Police Department found a man dead from gunshot wounds.

Police said Joseph Greenhill, 49, of Olive Hill, entered the residence and suffered fatal injuries. The Carter County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities have not filed any charges. They will present the case to the Carter County grand jury for review.
