INEZ — Children from infancy to age 5 participated in a “Cookies and Cocoa” Laugh and Learn Playdate on Friday at the Martin County Cooperative Extension Office.
The event featured a reading of “The Christmas Mouse.” Hands-on activities included making Play-Doh cookies, exploring a hot cocoa-themed sensory bin, dot painting, building gingerbread houses, a “candy” sensory block walk, and free play.

For snacks, children enjoyed strawberry-and-banana candy cane treats. They also took home creations from a reindeer food station and a height ornament-making station.
Laugh and Learn Playdates foster school readiness. The free monthly sessions at the extension office include crafts, storytime, healthy snacks, motor skill exercises, and free play.
