Wilburn Edgar Goble
1929—2024

Wilburn Edgar Goble, 95, of Inez, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.

Born April 4, 1929, in Martin County, he was the son of the late Eli Goble and Nannie Long Goble.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Goble, one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Goble and four siblings, Edward Goble, Virginia Goble, Betty Goble and Earl Goble.

Survivors include Wilburn’s three children, Sheila (Johnny Venturino) Preece, Cara Goble Hale and Wilburn Bradley Goble, all of Inez; four grandchildren, Christy (Paul) Staten, Tara (Chris) Fletcher, Luke Hale and Raegan Hale; and six great-grandchildren, Ethan Staten, Mia Preece, Maddie Fletcher, Jessie Fletcher, Terry Fletcher and Henry Fletcher. He also leaves behind a special nephew, Clay Crum, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with Kevin Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Goble Cemetery on Eli Road. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
