Carol J. Hatcher
1940—2024

Carol J. Hatcher, 84, of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away at her home Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.

She was born May 5, 1940 to the late Elmer Gilman and Ida Harold Gilman.

Survivors include Carol’s loving husband, Thomas Hatcher; two stepchildren, Tom Hatcher Jr. and Tammie Green, both of Muncie, Indiana; and four siblings, Lena May Carter and Helen Moore, both of Proctorville, Ohio, and Wanda Phillips and Harold Gilman, both of Columbus, Ohio.

Carol graduated from Crum High School in 1958 and soon after, she moved to Columbus and worked there for several years. Later, she moved back to Crum, West Virginia, to open a beauty salon which she operated for many years.

Carol attended the Kermit First Baptist Church where she loved to sing. She was also an avid lover of all animals. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 16, 2024 at the Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield, Kentucky, with Danny Meade officiating. Burial followed at the Harold Cemetery on Jennies Creek. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
