KERMIT, W.Va. — Dozens of residents gathered Dec. 4 for the Town of Kermit’s annual Christmas Parade and Tree-lighting ceremony.

This year’s tree-lighting honor went to 87-year-old Kermit resident Gail Ruble, who lit up the Christmas tree at Kermit Park.

“She enjoyed that,” Mayor Charles Sparks said.

“We had a good crowd and a good parade,” he added. “Of course, we had Santa Claus at the park along with cookies and hot chocolate. It was cold, but everyone showed up anyway. It was good.”
